Kenshu Hideo Watanabe also commented on his note ""Goshin" Audio Book By Kancho Deena Naidu". Kenshu Hideo Watanabe Shihan wrote: "I agree with you that we have the same thoughts, feelings and love for something beatiful, wonderful & peaceful called karate-do. Karate-do has to be taught to anyone the way what we have learned & received from the past great masters in India,China & Japan in which partly & historically explained in your audio book "Goshin". Good on you!"

Do your best for every role you play and do not concern yourself in the outcome. Kancho I believe in the idea of strong discipline, yet gentle in physical training and getting the best of the students by gentle persuasion and motivation. Kancho Sometimes it is important not to get involved in the problems of others who carry a heavy load of karma. I assisted someone once that was down on the doldrums, took him in as a student, lifted his spirits and guess what he almost dragged me down with him. Now he is back where he was supposed to be. As it is said you can give light to only those who are prepared to accept change and a change of attitude. If they have created their own destiny by finding themselves in deep water without knowing how to swim, they will drag you down like a drowning man, not all of us can be lifesavers. Kancho

Found this on the net, i thought might be interesting reading Goju a go-go (With many thanks to Nooms, as this is as much her post, as it is mine.) Well, Why did we go? Mainly because Kathie's friend/Boss/Former Instructor pestered her to, and because She had known one of the Instructors there for a couple of years. So we introduced ourselves and asked if we could join in - They were more than happy to let us participate, even when I said I couldn't actually sign up to anything, and was just there on holiday. So there followed one of the most gruelling warm-ups I've ever had, Honestly, I'll never forget that warm-up - I've been to easier gradings, And I mean that.... Most of the class involved partner work, and we concentrated on holds and breaks - although to our eyes, some of them seemed a little fanciful - Would pressure-point techniques work in a must-do situation? I think after a helluvalot of practice they would..... But it's inappropriate to judge a whole style after attending just one class. Their Chief Instructor, Kancho Deena Naidu was there and moved amongst the students, correcting here and there, and offering pointers. He helped me with quite a lot of the break holds, and spent a surprising amount of time with someone who he`d never probably see at his class again. I was grateful to him for this, and he seemed to have limitless reserves of patience. The skill level in the class was very high though, over half of the students were 2nd kyu and above - I liked this, and the brown-belt chap I partnered with, was pleased to have a total newbie to try out his (very effective) joint locks on! I liked the class overall, but I would've liked to do a kata class I think. Though Sionnagh, back in Perth taught me the Goju-version of Saifa, which has so many subtle variations - as well as the more obvious ones. So, Many thanks to Kancho Deena Naidu - for letting us train there, I don't usually do plugs - but these guys are seriously worth training with.... Sunday Morning - Black belt, Brown Belts and lower are required to get a Working with Children Check Every sporting and recreation organisation that works with children and young people has an obligation to provide a safe environment for them. In July 2000 legislation was introduced in NSW that affects all people working with children. This legislation is the Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998. The Working With Children Check has been created under this legislation to help determine whether a person is suitable to work with children. It helps to ensure, as far as possible, that people who may pose a risk to children are not employed in roles where they have direct, unsupervised contact with children. For more information you can visit the NSW Working with Children website: http://www.kids.nsw.gov.au/ or https://check.kids.nsw.gov.au/ If you are a teacher or a blackbelt student then please complete the following forms from the website: 1. Application - Declaration and consent for the check (link) 2. Employer - check and applicant (link) You can complete the above two forms, print and sign them before handing them to either Kancho or one of the teachers.

Goshin Kan members had a great opportunity of learning traditional techniques from Master Mashashi Sudo Shihan and his student, Master Kenshu Watanabe. We all throughly enjoyed the days of training and demonstrations. Goshin kan gave a 15 minute demonstration of how they practice karate. Master Sudo and master Watanabe were very impressed by Goshin's performance of traditional karat-do and have said so without reservation. From their observation of Goshin kan, both teachers expressed that Goshin kan is a very well disciplined school that trains very hard and have very powerful techniques and form. The also said that have shown that they follow the traditional ways of karate-do. Thank you teachers and students, you are a great lot of students and I am proud of you all. Kancho Deena Naidu

Hi Members of Goshin Kan I am growing a moustache this year for Movember. I have decided to put down my razor for one month (November) and help raise awareness and funds for men’s health – specifically prostate cancer and depression in men. What many people don’t appreciate is that close to 3,000 men die of prostate cancer each year in Australia and one in eight men will experience depression in their lifetime - many of whom don’t seek help. Facts like these have convinced me I should get involved and I am hoping that you will support me. To sponsor my Mo, you can either: • Click this link http://au.movember.com/mospace/37763/ and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account • Write a cheque payable to ‘Movember Foundation’, referencing my Registration Number 37763 and mailing it to: Movember Foundation, PO Box 292, Prahran, VIC, 3181 Remember, all donations over $2 are tax deductible. Movember is now in its sixth year and, to date, has achieved some pretty amazing results by working alongside The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCFA) and beyondblue: the national depression initiative. Check out further details at: http://au.movemberfoundation.com/research-and-programs. If you are interested in following the progress of my Mo, click here http://au.movember.com/mospace/37763/. Also, http://au.movember.com has heaps of useful information. Hi Kancho Deena Naidu, Thank you for your kind words. It was a great pleasure to have you and your boys here for the weekend. We both enjoyed seeing your passion and your generosity in bringing these men together and teaching them all you know about the karate discipline. They are very blessed to have you as their Kancho. We are thrilled about about the gift voucher...we will be buying a tree, and the memory of the weekend will enrich its growth and beauty. Thank you also for showing us a group of men who have great respect, thoughtfulness and compassion. It is quite rare in this world. Much love to you and your family (and we hope that Malliga survived OK without you!) Julie and Grant
